Vulvodynia

Vulvodynia is a chronic pain in a vulva whose cause is difficult to pin down. The symptoms vary. Some women describe a constant burning pain or knife-like pain while others report pain only when something is touching the area. The symptoms can be extremely debilitating making activities such as wearing pants, sitting and intercourse painful or impossible. A thorough physical therapy assessment will determine if there is a musculoskeletal cause for this pain and a treatment plan developed accordingly.
